Digital radiography, or digital x-ray, is one of the more advanced technologies that we use to see what’s going on inside your mouth. Instead of x-ray film, a digital x-ray uses an electronic sensor (that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged, helping Dr. Garland detect problems easier. Digital x-rays reduce radiation by 80-90 percent compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
Dr. Garland and Dr. Lu use this information to safely and accurately detect any hidden dental problems or abnormalities, and complete an accurate treatment plan. With digital x-rays, problem areas that may have gone undetected can be easily seen.
